“The more we learn about COVID-19, the more it becomes apparent that we have done a huge disservice to our children by shutting down schools and isolating them in their homes. Virtual learning has already had a negative impact on the social, mental, and physical well-being—we can’t let this continue into the fall.

“It is disappointing that Senator Tina Smith is content to sit idly by while Democrats refuse to announce a plan for allowing children to return to school this Fall. Her continued silence on the matter is troubling.

“This transcends politics. All parents want their kids to be happy, healthy and educated, and a consistent education is a big part of that. Students need consistency and parents need to know what to expect in the Fall. Anybody who tries to hinder that – including Senator Tina Smith – does not have our students’ and parents’ best interests in mind.”
