October 14, 2016–Cottage Grove, MN…Tonight’s first debate in the race for Minnesota’s Second Congressional District continued to reveal the stark differences between Jason Lewis’ positive campaign, focused on being an independent leader for Minnesotans in Congress, versus Angie Craig’s slash and burn attempts to deflect voters from learning about her radical agenda.Make no mistake about it, Craig would be a rubber stamp for Nancy Pelosi’s radical leftwing issue agenda in Congress. This is evidenced by her commitment to expand ObamaCare, allowing for open borders and immediate amnesty, and putting big government interests ahead of families by increasing taxes on our hardworking citizens. Despite last minute attempts to “moderate” the way she talks about issues, Craig’s positions are far too liberal for Minnesota’s 2nd District. Jason Lewis continues to prove he is the candidate with a positive vision and will be an independent voice for Minnesotans in Congress. Lewis’ message remains focused on restoring economic prosperity, securing our nation, and implementing the kind of public policy solutions that will allow Minnesotans to rise together by creating good paying jobs and cutting the burdensome regulations that have stifled small business growth in our great state. We look forward to what will hopefully be a more productive discussion of the issues at the next debate, and encourage Angie Craig to finally share with voters what her real positions are on the issues Minnesotans are concerned about.
Republican U.S. Congressman from the Second Congressional District
“I understand the critical importance of our small businesses to our Minnesota economy, unlike Craig, who is more interested in the Democratic big business, big labor agenda. As your next Representative in Congress, I will fight for small businesses and an economic plan focused on restoring growth and jobs to Minnesota.”
